Choosing a clinic for implants versus veneers

Implant surgery and cosmetic work ask different things of a clinic. So should you.

Short answer

For implants, look at the brands offered, a written implant guarantee, 3D scanning and published prices. For veneers and crowns, look at written veneer and crown guarantees, digital design, an on-site lab, mock-ups and shade matching. A clinic can be strong for one and say less about the other.

It is natural to look for “the best clinic” and stop there. But dental clinics are not equally strong at everything. Implant surgery depends on planning, bone and surgical skill. Veneers and crowns depend on design, materials and an eye for how teeth look in a face. When you choose, think about the treatment first.

What matters for implants

  • The brand, and a choice of brands, so you can balance price and long-term support.
  • A written implant guarantee.
  • 3D (CBCT) planning before surgery.
  • Published prices, including for grafts and sinus lifts.
  • Who places the implant, and how many they place.

Our implant ranking scores the first four from each clinic's website.

What matters for veneers and crowns

  • Written guarantees for both veneers and crowns.
  • Digital design (CAD/CAM) and, ideally, a lab on site.
  • A mock-up or trial smile before teeth are prepared.
  • Careful shade matching in good light.
  • Honest advice on crowns versus veneers versus bonding.

Our cosmetic ranking scores guarantees, CAD/CAM, an on-site lab and published prices.

The rankings differ, and that is the point

On this site the order after our top pick changes from list to list. Some clinics score full marks for implants and fewer points for veneers; others are the reverse. For example, VK Smile Studio meets all five veneer and crown criteria, while Perla Dental Clinics and Diamond Dental Antalya meet all five implant criteria. You can see each clinic's three scores on its clinic file and in the full list.

Questions that reveal a clinic's strengths

A short set of questions tells you a lot about how a clinic approaches each kind of treatment.

For implants

  • Who places the implants, and roughly how many do they place a year?
  • Do you plan every implant on a 3D scan?
  • Which brands do you offer, and at what prices?
  • What is your implant guarantee, in writing?
  • What happens if an implant does not fuse?

For veneers and crowns

  • Will you show me a mock-up before preparing any tooth?
  • Would bonding or fewer veneers do the job?
  • How much tooth will be removed?
  • Who designs the teeth, and is the lab on site?
  • What are the guarantee periods for veneers and for crowns?

Clear, specific answers in writing are a good sign. Vague answers, or pressure to decide quickly, are not.

Look at what the clinic publishes

A clinic's website shows what it is willing to commit to in public. A clinic that publishes implant brands and an implant guarantee but nothing about veneers may simply focus on implants. One with a detailed veneer guarantee and a lab may focus on cosmetic work. Our clinic files show what each clinic publishes for each treatment. See also what a good clinic website publishes.

If you need both

Many plans combine treatments: implants at the back, crowns or veneers at the front. In that case:

  • look for a clinic that publishes guarantees for every part of your plan;
  • ask who plans the whole case, so the implants and the front teeth fit together;
  • ask about the order of treatment and the number of trips;
  • prefer one clinic for one plan, so one team is responsible for the result.

Our top pick

Precious Dental, which publishes this site, is first on every list. It meets all five implant criteria, all five full-arch criteria and four of the five cosmetic criteria; the one it misses is an on-site laboratory. It publishes a lifetime guarantee on implants with abutment, five years on crowns and three years on laminate veneers.

How the top clinics differ by treatment

Scores from our three treatment lists, from each clinic's own website, checked 22 October 2026:

ClinicImplantsAll-on-4 / All-on-6Veneers and crowns
Precious Dental5/55/54/5
Perla Dental Clinics5/54/54/5
VK Smile Studio5/52/55/5
Diamond Dental Antalya5/53/53/5
OGN Dental Studio4/53/54/5
Taki Dent4/53/54/5
Dentatur4/52/54/5
Myra Dental Centre5/52/52/5
Sevil Smile Studio3/50/54/5
Attelia1/51/54/5

All 15 clinics are on the full list. A missing point means we did not find it on the clinic's website, not that the clinic lacks it.

The pattern is clear: several clinics score well for implants but say little about full-arch prices, and a few, such as Attelia and Sevil Smile Studio, publish more about cosmetic work than implants. That does not make them weaker clinics; it means they publish different things.

Full-arch is a third case

All-on-4 and All-on-6 combine both worlds: implant surgery and a large visible set of teeth. A clinic for full-arch work needs strong implant planning and good prosthetic design. Our full-arch ranking looks at what each clinic's published full-arch price tells you: whether it states a total for both jaws, lists what is included and names the material of the teeth, plus a written implant guarantee.

A practical way to choose

  1. List the treatments in your plan.
  2. Open the ranking for each one and note the top clinics.
  3. Pick two or three clinics that appear high on every list you need.
  4. Put them side by side in the compare tool.
  5. Send the same X-ray and questions to each, and compare the written plans.

What the NHS says about each treatment

The NHS describes implants as a fixed alternative to dentures, usually only available privately. It describes veneers as thin layers placed over the front of teeth to improve their look, and notes they are not usually available on the NHS, while crowns are usually available on the NHS where clinically needed. If part of your plan is clinically necessary, such as a crown on a broken tooth, ask your UK dentist whether the NHS could provide it. Source: NHS dental treatments.

One clinic, or the best for each?

It can be tempting to have implants at the clinic that scores best for implants and veneers at the one that scores best for veneers. For most people, one clinic for one plan is safer: one team plans the bite, the shade and the timing, and one guarantee covers the result. Choose the clinic that is strongest across the treatments you need, rather than the top scorer for each one separately.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Which treatment in my plan matters most to me: function, appearance, or both?
  • Which parts are permanent and hardest to undo?
  • Am I prepared to make two trips?
  • Do I want everything done at once, or in stages?

The answers tell you which list to give most weight to.

Using the head-to-head pages

If two clinics are on your shortlist and one is Precious Dental, the head-to-head pages compare them fact by fact, including where the other clinic is ahead. Find them at the bottom of the compare tool.

Whichever clinic you choose, get the plan for every treatment in writing before you book.

And ask each clinic who will carry out each part, so you know whose skill you are relying on.

Use the compare tool

If you have two clinics in mind, the compare tool shows their brands, guarantees and scores side by side. There are also head-to-head pages comparing Precious Dental with each other clinic.

Common questions

Is a good implant clinic also good for veneers?

Not necessarily. The two need different skills and equipment. Check what each clinic publishes for the treatment you want.

Which clinic is best for both?

Our top pick is Precious Dental, which publishes guarantees for implants, crowns and veneers. Our rankings show how every clinic does for each treatment separately.

Should I have implants and veneers at different clinics?

Usually it is simpler to have one plan at one clinic, so one team is responsible for how everything fits together.

What matters most for veneers?

A careful plan that removes as little tooth as possible, a mock-up before treatment, good shade matching and a written guarantee.
