Clinic package hotel, or book your own?
The hotel in a dental package is convenient, but it is not always the best choice for you. Here is how to decide.
Take the package hotel if it is close to the clinic, transfers are included and the nights match your treatment. Book your own if you want to stay longer, need a particular area or room, or are combining treatment with a holiday, and ask the clinic how transfers work from your hotel.
Most Antalya dental packages come with a hotel. For many people that is the simplest option: the clinic books the room, a driver takes you to every appointment and you do not have to think about it. But it is worth checking whether the package hotel suits your treatment and your trip.
Reasons to take the package hotel
- It is close to the clinic. Implant and crown treatment means several visits in a few days. A short drive makes those days easier.
- Transfers are built in. The clinic knows the hotel and the driver knows the route.
- The nights match the treatment. The clinic has set the number of nights to fit its timetable.
- The clinic can reach you. If an appointment moves, they know where you are.
Reasons to book your own
- You want a longer stay. If you are adding a holiday, you may want a different area or a resort.
- You need something specific. A ground-floor room, step-free access, a kitchen for soft food, or a particular bed.
- You are travelling as a family and need more space.
- You already know Antalya and have a place you like.
Check the distance
Antalya is spread out. The drive from the city centre to Konyaaltı Beach is about 15 minutes in free-flowing traffic; from the centre to Belek it is about 40. If you book your own room, put it near your clinic's area. Our area guide gives road distances and drive times from each clinic neighbourhood to the airport, the old town, both main beaches, Belek and Kemer.
Ask about transfers first
The biggest practical difference is transport. Before you book your own hotel, ask the clinic:
- Will you collect me from my hotel for each appointment?
- Is there a limit on distance, for example within the city only?
- Is there a charge if I stay outside the package hotel?
- If not, how long does a taxi take, and roughly what does it cost?
Ask whether the price changes
If you do not use the package hotel, ask whether the package price is reduced. Some clinics quote treatment and hotel separately, which makes this easy; others only sell the package as a whole. See package or itemised price.
What to look for in any hotel
Whether the clinic books it or you do, a few things make treatment days easier, especially if you are over 60 or travelling alone:
- A lift, or a ground-floor room. You may feel tired or a little unsteady after a long appointment.
- Air conditioning. From June to September average highs in Antalya are above 30°C, according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service.
- A fridge for cold drinks, yoghurt and soft food, and for any medicines that need keeping cool.
- Quiet. A room away from a nightclub or a busy road helps you rest.
- Somewhere nearby to buy soft food, such as soup, rice pudding or yoghurt. See soft food in Antalya.
- Reception that speaks English, in case you need to call the clinic or a doctor at night.
Cost is not only the room
A cheaper room further away can cost more once you add taxis for each appointment and the time spent travelling. On an implant trip with several visits, a hotel 10 minutes from the clinic is worth more than a nicer one 40 minutes away.
A middle way
A common choice is to stay at the package hotel for the treatment nights and then move to your own booking for a few days of rest or holiday. That keeps the busy days simple and gives you freedom afterwards. If you are on holiday first and having treatment at the end, see combining treatment with a beach holiday.

Questions to ask about the package hotel
- What is the hotel's name and address?
- How far is it from the clinic, and how long is the drive?
- Is breakfast included? Are other meals?
- Is there a lift, air conditioning and a fridge in the room?
- Is the room for one or two people? Is there a charge for a companion?
- Can I extend my stay, and at what rate?
Once you have the hotel's name, look it up on a map and read recent guest reviews.
Booking your own: practical tips
- Choose a hotel in the same area as the clinic. Our area guide shows which neighbourhoods each clinic is in.
- Book a flexible rate if your timetable might change after the scan.
- Send the hotel's name and address to the clinic so the driver knows where to collect you.
- Check the hotel's reception hours if you arrive late at night.
- Ask for a quiet room away from the street.
Apartments and longer stays
Some patients, especially on a longer full-arch trip or travelling as a couple, prefer a serviced apartment with a small kitchen for soft food. That can work well. Check that the building has a lift, that it is close to the clinic, and that the clinic will collect you from it. Make sure your travel insurance covers the accommodation type you choose.
For companions
If someone is travelling with you, ask whether the package room is a double or twin, and whether there is any extra charge. A companion is particularly helpful on surgery days, for collecting medicines and soft food while you rest.
Example: the effect of distance
Suppose an implant trip involves five visits to the clinic. From a hotel 10 minutes away, that is about 100 minutes of driving in total for the return journeys. From a resort 40 minutes away, it is about 400 minutes, nearly seven hours, much of it on the day of surgery and the days after. That difference is often worth more than a nicer room.
Accessibility
If you have limited mobility, tell the clinic before it books the package hotel. Ask for a room near the lift, a walk-in shower if needed, and step-free access from the car. If you book your own, check these with the hotel directly, and ask the clinic whether its car can take a wheelchair or walking frame.
Comparing clinics on the hotel question
When you compare clinics, compare their package hotels too: distance, nights included and transfers. The compare tool shows each clinic's area and airport drive time; the clinic itself can tell you about its hotel.
Whichever you choose, put the hotel's name and address on your printed checklist and give a copy to anyone travelling with you.
What our top pick does
Precious Dental's packages include hotel nights (4 + 5 for implants, 5 for zirconia crowns) and airport and clinic transfers. The clinic is in Yeşilbahçe, about 3 km from the old town. If you would rather stay elsewhere, tell us when you ask for a plan and we will explain the options for your dates.
Common questions
Is the package hotel free?
It is included in the package price. If you do not use it, ask whether the price is lower.
Will the clinic collect me from my own hotel?
Some clinics will within the city; fewer will from resorts such as Belek or Kemer. Ask before you book.
Can my partner stay with me?
Usually yes, in a shared room. Ask whether there is any extra charge for a second person.
What if I want to stay longer?
You can often extend at the package hotel, or move to your own booking after treatment. Ask the clinic for its rate.
