Package price or itemised price?

Some clinics sell one all-in figure; others list every implant, crown and night. Neither is better by itself. Here is how to compare them.

Short answer

A package is usually simpler and often better value for full-arch treatment with a fixed number of implants. An itemised price list is easier to check and can be cheaper for small cases or if you do not need the hotel. To compare, turn the package into items or add hotel and transfers to the itemised total.

Antalya clinics present prices in two main ways. Some quote a single package figure, especially for full-arch treatment. Others publish a price list: so much per implant, per crown, per graft. Many do both. When you are comparing clinics that use different methods, you need to put them on the same footing.

What a package is

A package bundles treatment with the practical parts of the trip: hotel nights, transfers, X-rays and scans, and sometimes extractions, temporary teeth and medication. It is one price for a defined plan. See what a package includes.

Strengths: simple to understand, fewer surprises on the trip, and often good value for large treatments.

Weaknesses: harder to compare across clinics, and you may pay for things you do not need.

What an itemised price is

An itemised plan lists each part: each implant, abutment, crown, graft and the like, each with a price. Hotel and transfers may be included, listed separately, or left to you.

Strengths: easy to check, easy to compare, and you only pay for what you have.

Weaknesses: the travel costs can be forgotten, and the total can grow as items are added.

How to compare a package with an itemised quote

Either break the package into items, or build the itemised quote up into a package. The second is often easier:

  1. Take the itemised treatment total.
  2. Add hotel nights at a realistic price for the area.
  3. Add transfers: airport runs plus each trip to the clinic.
  4. Add anything the package includes and the itemised quote does not: scans, extractions, temporary teeth, medication.
  5. Now compare with the package price.

An example using published prices

Precious Dental publishes both. For All-on-6, the package is £6,500 for both jaws in total, including implants, zirconia teeth, titanium bars, temporary teeth, extractions, hotel (4 + 5 nights), transfers, X-rays and medication. Its per-item prices are £300 per implant, £150 per zirconia crown and £275 per titanium bar. Twelve implants and two bars alone come to £4,150 at item prices, before the teeth, temporary teeth, hotel and transfers. For a full mouth, the package is clearly the simpler route.

For one implant and crown, the item prices (£300 and £150) are the relevant figures, and the hotel nights and transfers are included on top.

Questions to ask

  • Can you show me the package item by item?
  • If I do not need the hotel, does the price change?
  • Which items in the package would change after the 3D scan?
  • Does the package cover both trips?
  • Are the item prices fixed for the second trip?

Watch the extras

Whichever format you choose, ask for the price of common extras: a bone graft, a sinus lift, an extra implant, an extra night. These change the total more than anything else. See bone grafts and sinus lifts on a quote.

Worked comparison: one crown trip, two pricing styles

A simple example, using placeholder figures so the method is clear rather than any clinic's actual prices.

LineClinic A (package)Clinic B (itemised)
6 zirconia crownsOne package price, P6 × crown price
X-ray and consultationIncluded or a separate line
Hotel, 5 nightsNot included: your own booking
Airport transfersNot included: taxis
Transfers to appointmentsNot included: taxis
Comparable totalPCrowns + X-ray + hotel + all taxis

Only the bottom row can be compared. If Clinic B's treatment price is lower but you add five nights and several taxi journeys, it may end up close to, or above, Clinic A's package.

Converting a package into items

Ask the clinic to break the package down. A clear breakdown has:

  • Each tooth or implant, with its material or brand and price.
  • Any bars, abutments or temporary teeth as separate lines.
  • X-rays and the 3D scan.
  • Extractions, with the number of teeth.
  • Hotel nights, with the number and the hotel's name.
  • Transfers: airport only, or every appointment.
  • Medication.

If a clinic will not break a package down at all, that is not necessarily a bad sign, but it makes comparison harder. Ask at least for the list of what is included.

Which is easier to check later?

An itemised invoice matches your treatment line by line, which helps if you ever need to use a guarantee or explain to a UK dentist what was done. If you choose a package, ask for an itemised invoice at the end anyway. Keep it with your guarantee and implant details. See reading a clinic guarantee.

Packages across two trips

For implants and full-arch treatment, check whether the package price covers both visits, including hotel nights and transfers on the second trip. Precious Dental's All-on-4 and All-on-6 packages include hotel nights for both (4 + 5). If another clinic's package covers only the first trip, ask for the second trip's price in writing before you start. See one trip or two.

Prices that change after the scan

Whichever pricing style a clinic uses, the final plan follows the 3D scan. With a package, ask which changes would alter the package price; with an itemised plan, the change is simply a new line. Either way, the price of each likely extra should be known before you travel. See why the final price waits for the scan.

UK prices for context

Most implant and cosmetic work is private in the UK; the NHS notes that implants are usually only available privately and that whitening and veneers are not usually NHS treatments. NHS charges for the treatments it does provide are fixed by band and listed on the NHS dental costs page. For a fair comparison with Antalya, get a written private quote from a UK practice for the same treatment, and compare it with the Antalya total including travel.

Which to choose: a quick guide

  • Choose a package if you want everything arranged, are having full-arch treatment, or are visiting Antalya for the first time.
  • Choose itemised if you have your own accommodation, need only a few teeth done, or want to check each line.
  • Whichever you choose, ask for the price of likely extras, the hotel's location and an itemised invoice at the end.

Then put the clinics side by side on the compare tool, which shows each clinic's published full-arch price in its own words.

Watch the unit

Before comparing any two figures, check the unit: per tooth, per implant, per jaw (also called per arch) or for both jaws in total. A full-arch price per jaw has to be doubled for a full mouth. Precious Dental's All-on-4 (£6,000) and All-on-6 (£6,500) prices are for both jaws in total.

A price that does not state its unit is not ready to compare. Ask.

Published prices on this site

Our full-arch ranking gives points to clinics whose published price states a total for both jaws, lists what is included and says what the teeth are made of. The compare tool shows each clinic's published All-on-6 price side by side, exactly as the clinic words it.

Common questions

Is a package always cheaper?

No. It is often good value for full-arch treatment, but for one or two crowns, or if you have your own accommodation, an itemised price can cost less.

Can I ask for an itemised version of a package?

Yes. A good clinic can show what the package includes item by item. That makes it easier to compare with other clinics.

Why do some clinics only sell packages?

Packages are simpler to sell and plan. They also make direct comparison harder, which is why it is worth asking for the items.

Does Precious Dental publish both?

Yes. It publishes per-item prices (for example £300 per implant and £150 per zirconia crown) and full-arch packages (All-on-4 £6,000 and All-on-6 £6,500 for both jaws in total).
